REO Machine Operator – Cutter & Bender

Busck is looking for a reliable and motivated Reinforcing Steel Machine Operator – Cutter & Bender to join our team.
This is primarily a machine operating role, where you’ll be responsible for accurately cutting and bending reinforcing steel to customer and production requirements. You’ll also have the opportunity to develop your skills in steel fixing and operating other machinery and equipment.
What you’ll be doing
Your main focus will be:
• Operating reinforcing steel cutting and bending machines
• Reading steel detail sheets and shop drawings
• Measuring and accurately cutting and bending steel to specification
• Checking finished steel for accuracy and quality
• Preparing reinforcing steel for production and customer orders
• Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
• Following all company health & safety procedures and machine operating requirements
You’ll also assist with:
• Placing and tying reinforcing steel accurately
• General steel preparation and production duties
• Operating an overhead gantry crane once trained
We’re looking for someone who is:
• Reliable and safety-focused
• Comfortable working around machinery and steel
• Practical and mechanically minded
• Accurate and has good attention to detail
• Able to read measurements, detail sheets and basic drawings
• Physically capable of working in a hands-on production environment
• A team player with a positive attitude
• Keen to learn and develop their skills
Experience operating steel cutting/bending machinery, working with reinforcing steel, manufacturing or construction would be an advantage — but attitude and reliability are just as important.
Full training will be provided for our machinery and equipment where required.
