FORMWORK CARPENTER / CONCRETE WORKER
(Ashburton)
KEY RESULT AREAS:
1. Fabricate plywood formwork as required, ensuring:
2. All architectural and dimensional details are correct and accurate.
3. That all joins are seamless, and finishes are smooth.
4. Liaise with Engineer if steel formwork is required, making sure that:
– This is available when needed for production.
– And that is dimensionally correct, and finished to specified quality.
5. Ensure that staff have thoroughly cleaned and polished deck.
6. Mark-out the panel using the Shop Drawings supplied. Attach the required formwork to the deck with screws, bolts or magnetic clamps.
7. Calculate diagonals and ensure that panel is square.
8. Check that all dimensions and angles match the Shop Drawing. Maximum dimensional tolerances, minus 2mm and plus 0mm.
9. Apply silicone sealant where formwork meets the deck. Apply form release. Apply retarder when specified.
10. Oversee:
– Craning of reinforcing steel cage into the formwork.
– Installation of chairs to the correct cover dimensions.
– Installation of cast in items as required.
11. Arrange Pre-Pour Inspection by Manager. Carry out any changes requested.
– Assist Concrete Placers if necessary to:
– Pour premixed concrete into formwork.
– Screed and vibrate wet concrete.
– Set gas heaters under deck.
– Bull float and mag trowel edges.
12. Ensure excess concrete is cleaned from the workspace.
13. Once concrete is sufficiently set and been tested to required hardness, oversee stripping of formwork from the panel, and that it is cleaned and put away.

15. Assist with other site duties across the Ashburton site as instructed including Standard Products, REO and Yard duties.
