Ashburton – Construction Graduate

Ready to kick-start your construction career in 2026?

If you’re a recent graduate (or about to be) and want more than just a desk job, our Graduate Construction Programme is the perfect way to get hands-on experience and figure out where you want your career to go.

 

Over two years, you’ll rotate through different parts of the Busck business, learn from experienced industry professionals, and get involved in real projects from day one.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

You won’t be stuck doing the same thing every day. Instead, you’ll rotate through key areas of the business, including:

 

Core rotations:

  • Estimating / Quantity Surveying
  • Contract Administration
  • Draughting & Documentation
  • Project Management
  • Production Management & Quality Assurance

 

You’ll also get exposure to other areas so you can see how projects are delivered end-to-end, including:

 

  • Reinforcing
  • Prestressing
  • Planning & programming
  • Dispatch & logistics

 

What a Typical Day Might Look Like

  • Shadowing experienced team members and learning the ropes
  • Helping out with live projects and real work (not just admin)
  • Sitting in on meetings and understanding how projects are run
  • Getting experience both in the office and on the factory floor
  • Asking questions, learning fast, and building your confidence

 

Who We’re Looking For

  • You’re studying or have recently completed a qualification in Construction Management, Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or a related field
  • You’re keen to learn, motivated, and not afraid to get stuck in
  • You’re a good communicator and enjoy working in a team
  • You want a long-term career in the construction industry
