Branch Manager – Morrinsville
Busck Prestressed Concrete is one of New Zealand’s largest and most respected manufacturers of Precast & Prestressed concrete products. Originally established in Whangarei in the 1940’s, the business has gradually grown from a small local supplier into a national company with seven manufacturing branches strategically spread across the North and South Islands. Busck’s Head Office is still located in Whangarei.
We are looking for an astute individual to join our team as Branch Manager at our new, purpose built site in Morrinsville as our current Manager leaves us for the UK in March 2025.
About the Role:
The two factories produce a wide range of precast and pre-stressed standard concrete products for the electrical, dairy and construction infrastructure industries.
The Manager will take a “hands on” approach to the management and co-ordination of the branch by demonstrating an energy and passion for the overall vision and direction of the business.
As the Manager of the branch, you will work collaboratively to add value by implementing the business’s strategic plans. You will coach and develop your team to achieve excellence in production quality, health and safety and encourage continuous improvement within the team.
With the support of an Assistant Branch Manager, other branch managers and a highly experienced head office team, this is a great opportunity to help develop and grow the Morrinsville branch. In your role you will be responsible for production, quality, stock & expenditure, staff management & training.
This is a hands on role where you are expected to lead by example and help foster a productive, collaborative, and rewarding work environment, whilst developing a highly engaged team.
About You:
- Technical understanding across manufacturing production processes, ideally in the precast concrete industry
- Ability to make recommendations, solve problems and develop team capabilities
- Ability to read construction plans / pre-cast shop drawings and organise / supervisor mould building & maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Good computer skills – outlook, word, excel and ability / willingness to learn new programs.
- Team leadership skills.
- Forklift licence (or willing to be trained and licenced).
- A desire to grow and improve the operation and processes.
